Welcome to the Southwest Pinto - a charter of the Pinto Horse Association of America serving Southern California, promoting all types and disciplines of Pinto Horses.

Southwest Pinto is alive and well! This year, our show season began February 17 with a whole new format in Bucklemania! Not only are we offering your favorite PtHA classes, but at this show, we added 6 open classes featuring Kathy's Silver Buckles as awards and a High Point Yearling award with a $100 cash prize. As always, we give great awards to 1st Place in every class. Our entire class list has been updated to reflect what you - the exhibitors - have been telling us, with no one left out and All Day Show Fees. All shows will be held at the scenic Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos, CA located conveniently and directly off Interstate 15 and accessible from Interstate 5. The next Show Dates are 5/04/08 and 9/21/08. This will be the series for showcasing not only your Pintos, but all the other starts you have in your barn. Yes, we are still working towards our End of Year High Point Awards! Even if you missed the first show, there will be enough shows and judges to be able to qualify! With our new All Day Show Fees, class sizes are up and we expect this trend to hold through the rest of the year. Rule for the End of Year awards are on the Shows page.

Thanks to our friends in San Marcos at Walnut Grove Park and the Los Vallecitos Riders Association. This fine rural setting makes for a wonderful show backdrop. The City of San Marcos is looking to expand the park and local horse groups are looking for support to make sure that these groups are a part of the upcoming planning process.
