Southwest Pinto knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust and want you to feel confident in our services and security as it relates to your personal information. This notice describes our privacy policy. By visiting southwestpinto.org, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

What Personal Information About Members and Visitors Does Southwest Pinto Gather?

The information we learn from members and visitors helps us personalize and continually improve your experience at Southwest Pinto. Here are the types of information we gather:

  • Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, preparing show registrations, tracking horse/rider scores and performance,  and communication with you.
  • Automatic Information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our website. For example, like many web sites, we sometimes use "cookies," (usually in our non-public areas) and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses our website.

What About Cookies?

Cookies are alphanumeric identifier text files that we transfer to your computers hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features such as storage of information during a visit. Cookies used by southwestpinto.org are set to automatically expire within a few hours of the end of a visit or immediately upon doing a "Log Out".

Does SouthwestPinto.org Share the Information It Receives?

We respect your privacy. With the exception of Pinto Horse Association of America, we do not provide your membership, horse, or contact information to any third party vendor, associate or service provider. Only information required by the Pinto Horse Association of America for use in tracking show points is transmitted as necessary to fulfill reporting requirements.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

We do not store any financial information about members. Any member information is stored in a database this is stored on an internal server at a secure site. Information specific to members is available only to Southwest Pinto staff and is secured by password access in non-public areas.

Which Information Can I Access?

Southwest Pinto has not begun to offer member access to information at this time. When this information is made available to members, notification will be given with the appropriate username and password for each member or member household. At this time, the only information available to the public from the database is the Last Name and City of residence of the members and is intended to assist members in identifying whether or not they have an active membership (as found on the bottom of the Membership page). Southwest Pinto may also post High Point standings or prizes won on the site by identifying only the names. No other information is given without permission.

E-Mail Addresses Used on SouthwestPinto.org

One technique by bulk mailers is to use "web spiders" to search websites for e-mail addresses. SouthwestPinto.org uses a special technique to store addresses in a form that is not easy to identify. If you have questions about this technique, please contact the Webmaster.

Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions

If you choose to visit SouthwestPinto.org, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Notice and our Terms of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the state of our local state. If you have any concern about privacy of your personal information as used and collected within our website, please send us a thorough description by clicking on the "Contact Us" link on the bottom menu, and we will try to resolve it.

Our organization changes constantly, and our Privacy Notice and the Terms of Use will change also. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Notice applies to all information that we have about you and your account. We stand behind the promises we make, however, and will never materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of customer information collected in the past without the consent of affected members.

Automatic Information

For security purposes SouthwestPinto.org sometimes collects and analyzes the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, and to our website. While in our public areas (not protected by a password), this information does not contain information that would be able to identify an individual user. Inside of S.P.O.T.S. system, user information is logged along with the IP address and time of access to help in debugging the system and to monitor any attempts to improperly gain access to the system.
