Important Note Regarding Registration Please assist the PtHA Registration Department with future registration applications you may submit by adhering to the following: Regarding Photos:Standing 15 to 20 feet from the horse is the suggested distance to obtain the proper size of photograph. At least three (3) clear and good quality photos are necessary; more may be required to show the qualifying white with underlying pink skin. The three standard photos are one full frontal view facing the horse head on; and one of each side, left and right, with full profile photos of each side of the horse. All photos must include all parts of the horse available in that vies (ie. nose to tail and ears to hooves) and must not be obstructed by any tack other than a halter or headstall, nor shall be obstructed by any other horses, fences, handlers, etc. in the foreground. Also; if you are not including with your PtHA registration application a current copy of your horse's other approved outcross registry certificate of registration (if applicable) or if either or both of this animal's parents are not already registered with PtHA, it may be necessary to submit a copy of the sire's and / or dam's registration certificate from their approved outcross registry with your horse's registration application. Do not send original registration certificates from other breed registries. Please help us expedite future registrations by automatically submitting a copy or copies of the necessary papers as described above, with the initial PtHA registration application. Your attention to these requirements will hopefully assist us in more expeditious processing of registrations.
PtHA Changes Registration Age and Fees NEWS RELEASE CONTACT: Meriruth Cohenour Oklahoma City-The Pinto Horse Association of America has simplified its' registration process, making it easier for owners to add value to their animals and produce quality Pintos. Starting January 1, 2005, any age horse with four or more inches of white that lies in the qualifying zone and meets the bloodline requirements specified by the PtHA rulebook will be eligible for Regular Registry. The same rules apply to ponies and miniatures, however, ponies need 3 inches of eligible white and miniatures need 2 inches. "We hope that this new rule will simplify the registration process and open our association to an even bigger group of horses," said Darrell Bilke, PtHA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "We are growing everyday and hope to continue to do so." Horses, ponies and miniatures that were previously ineligible for Regular Registry Pinto papers because they lacked sufficient color were usually classified as Breeding Stock. Now, for a small fee, (25 dollars for PtHA members, 45 dollars for non members) all Pinto Breeding Stock horses with four or more inches of white can be reclassified as Regular Registry and therefore eligible for all PtHA Regular Registry benefits such as PtHA approved shows and Register of Merit Points. "Now owners can add value to their animals that were only Breeding Stock or not registered Pinto at all," said Bilke. "A Regular Registry Pinto has many opportunities to earn points at shows and participate in special events that other horses do not." In addition to the change in age requirement, the fees for registration have also changed. PtHA has simplified the fee structure and lowered some of the prices in order to make the registration process easier on Pinto owners. The 2005 fees are as follows:
"We wanted to make the association more accessible to Pinto owners and encourage the registration of good horses, ponies, and miniatures," said Bilke.
